UNION RULES FOR ALL MEMBERS & CASUALS WORKING AT NATIONAL MASTER FREIGHT COMPANIES
- Union dues are $62.00 per month for full time City, Dock/Yard (with CDL) and Garage employees. $61.00 per month for full time Dock and Road. $47.00 per month for Dock casuals. $53.00 per month for combination casuals. New Hires are $48.00 per month. The initiation fee is $150.00.
- When applying for membership you must pay one month's dues, on the day of application. After a new employee has worked one day they are eligible to become a member and they must become a member on the thirty-first calendar day after the first day of work. The initiation fee is $150.00 and payable 30 days from the date of application.
- Dues are due and payable on the first day of the month and must be paid before the last day of the current month to retain good standing status. (The date your check was mailed or the post mark date on the envelope is not acceptable.) Any member who is three months in arrears will be suspended and will have to pay a $100.00 re-initiation fee in addition to all delinquent dues.
- WHEN NOT WORKING, come to the Union Hall and GET A WITHDRAWAL CARD. Your initiation fee must have been paid in full and your union dues must be current . Your union dues must be paid through the month of the last day worked plus $.50 for the withdrawal card. Please notify us as soon as possible after leaving your employment and request this card. It is YOUR responsibility to obtain a withdrawal card.
- If you return to work and are on withdrawal, you must deposit your withdrawal card. Make sure you notify Local 24 on your return so you do not get behind in your dues.
- If you go to work under the jurisdiction of another Teamsters Local, you can transfer your membership. Your dues must be paid through the current month plus $.50 for the transfer card. You apply for the transfer with the Local Union that you are transferring to.
